How To Get Your Business On Google Maps

There are quite a lot of things that have to be taken into account upon setting up a new business. With this in mind, getting your business visible on Google maps is not only going to make you easy to discover, it’s also a sign of credibility which is definitely beneficial. However, you would have to undergo a specific process in order to get your business on Google maps. Not being familiar with this would definitely cause you a headache when having to deal with it, so here’s a comprehensive guide in a step-by-step manner that’s going to help you out significantly.

The First Thing You’d Need to Do Is to Get on Google

In order to do so, you would have to go ahead and go to Google My Business. Afterwards, you are going to see a comprehensive page in front of you with a green button that says “ Start Now”. Click it. Once you’ve done so, you would have to enter your gmail account and sign in.

Select or Add

Now, if your business is already listed, you can select it but if it’s not you would have to add it. You would be required to provide the necessary information right there. However, keep in mind that as you answer questions, you would have to be specific. This is going to help Google acquire the right type of information, and it’s going to be able to easily classify as well as display your business listing. You would also have to select a category from the section which is near the bottom of the form. You would have to choose a category which describes the type of business you run. This is very important as it’s going to be used by Google to classify your business. This is going to affect further searches and the listing on Google maps.

Verifying Your Business

In order to get your business on Google maps, you’d have to wait a week or two in order to receive a verification postcard with a pin within it. This way Google will know that this is the actual address of your enterprise. Sometimes you’d be given the option to receive a phone call or a text message which is going to significantly simplify and speed up the entire procedure.
All that is left for you is to confirm your business using the PIN that you’ve received and set up a Google+ page for further exposure.
